Reverend KIM University

Created in October 2010, Reverend Kim University, URKIM in acronym, is a private higher education and university institution, belonging to the mission of Protestant Evangelization in Congo, MEPCO.

A social work of MEPCO, URKIM is a Christian institution that advocates the promotion of students’ moral and Christian values. In the same year, URKIM opened the doors on behalf of the academic year 2010-2011. This first academic year, URKIM operated only four faculties out of the seven assigned to it by Ministerial Order No. 153/MINESU/CABMIN/MML/KOB/2010 of 21/9/2010 authorizing the operation of a private institution of higher and university education called: “Reverend Kim University, U.R.KIM”.

The first four faculties are:

  1. Faculty of Economics and Management
  2. Faculty of Social Communications Sciences
  3. Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Sciences
  4. Faculty of Management Informatics.

In May 2011, the MEPCO organising authority initiated a new request to obtain operating authorisation from two other faculties, in particular:

  2. Faculty of Social, Political and Administrative Sciences.

Thus, during the academic year 2012-2013, another faculty was born, which is: Faculty of Medicine. Also in the same year, URKIM opened an extension in the Lngwala commune, called the lingwala site.

Nowadays URKIM organizes the following faculties:

  1. Faculty of Social Communications Sciences
  2. Faculty of Computer Science
  3. Faculty of Law
  4. Faculty of Medicine
  5. Faculty of Economics and Management.

It should be emphasized in passing that the Faculty of Tourism Sciences and faculty of Social, Political and Administrative Sciences no longer exist because they have experienced a loss of speed of learners.

The university is named after its founder the legal representative of MEPCO the Reverend KIM Kyung SIK.
